The tradition of Beer Brewing is connected with history of Czech Slavic tribe since the 7th century…when pagans used to plant hops and malt and brew the very early beer, then 1st Christian kings Premysleds, famous St. Wenceslas (also known as Good King Wenceslas) gave brewers special privilities and he was helping with planting hops and malt…
Thats how the Brewery tradition started. Before the industrial evolution used to be plenty of Micro Breweries all over the Prague. Then most of the smaller breweries (around 1900) started to be bought by several fast-growing breweries such as Pilsner Urquell, Gambrinus, Budvar etc… Only few micro breweries survived and U Fleku Brewery was founded in 1499. Central location – New Town of Prague, easily walkable from the Old Town or New Town hotels, in case of further distance, we can get there by public transportation.
Brewery provides 1 hour long tour of its interiors (historical and modern production) and 1 free original „Flekovske Beer“ and souvenir glass. Great 3 course traditional meal with another Free large beer completes the whole experience in U Fleku restaurant.

Traditional Czech 3 course meal is provided in the restaurant , choice from 3 mean courses:
- Potatoe soup
1) Marinated beef tende, bread dumplings
2) Roast pork sauerkraut, potato dumplings,
3) Goulash “U Fleku” with bread dumplings
- Apple strudel
- and large Beer
